Amee Trivedi one of the most talented and successful theatre actresses, began her theatrical career in 1986 with children theatre. As a child artiste she did plays like ‘Akbar Birbal’, ‘Chhotu Motu’, ‘Tofani Tapudo’ and ‘Tako Mundo Tauo Tauo’ among others. Later on, she was associated with legendary actor and director Dinyar Contractor and did plays like ‘Double Sawari’, ‘Sathvaro’, ‘Tarkat’, etc., in Gujarati and ‘Doctor Doctor’, ‘I'’m Reddy’, ‘Wedding Night Goodnight’, ‘Ding Dong Dead’, etc., in English. Moving further step by step, she established herself as one of the thinking and talented performers and has given several noteworthy performances in plays like ‘Chukado Tamara Haath Ma’, ‘Man Pacham Na Mela Ma’, ‘Mota Ghar Ni Vahu’, ‘Vaat Bahar Jaay Nahin’, ‘TameTo Saav Eva Ne Evaa’, ‘Roop Sundari Echha Kumari’ ‘Lagangaadu Chaale Aadu’, ‘Devna Didhel’ in Gujarati & ‘Sanket’ in Hindi. She has toured extensively to the various parts of the world for her theatrical performances. Being a well-established theatre personality Amee always dreamt of venturing into the arena of theatre production which later took a shape of Avni Theatre Productions in the year 2000. Having all the relevant sources in the industry Amee started of as a producer on her own. Very bravely and confidently she launched her very first play as a producer which was named ‘Lajja Taney Maara Samm’. The play went on to become a runaway success all over the country. It was claimed as the biggest hit of the year 2000-2001. It is from then onwards she started an unending journey of theatre productions. One by One her plays hit the theatres and eveytime they are highly applauded for its daring social concepts. Amee mostly dealt with the issues that are more social that relates to our day-to-day life. Not only she has produced her plays, but she has also performed in them. ‘Lagangaadu Chaale Aadu’, ‘Devna Didhel’, and ‘Ek Anokhi Olkhan’ are some of the most successful plays of their respective years which are both produced and performed by her. Amongst all her plays Lagaangadu Chale Aadu is her most successfully runned play making history in the field of Gujarati theatre. It was the first and the only play which was premiered at an international venue. With her noteworthy performance in the play Amee amazed the entire audiences all over the world. Everytime she performs, she amazes the audience to such an extent that it seems that she is not playing a character but she herself is narrating her own story. Besides being an actress, she is also a Bharatnatyam exponent, an ardent disciple of Guru KaIaimamani Kalyansundaram of SriRajRajeshwari Bharatha Natya Kala Mandir since the last 23 years. She has given recitals in Trichur, Thiruvananthpuram, Chennai, Mumbai, Lucknow in India and also in the various cities of USA and Canada. She was a part of a ballet troupe of Sachin Shanker which was invited to Russia in 1988 to perform the Ganga-Volga, the grand finale dance of the Festival of India held there. Amee is also a well-known television actress and has done innumerable programs for SantakudiI like Taja Tan No Kakko, Rasrajan, Indira Ne Patro, Rakhna Ramakda and A Dance Ballet Tanariri to name a few. She also acted in a soap opera called Oathe. That's not all. Amee is also a professor in Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, one of the topmost colleges of Mumbai. She teaches Advertising, Marketing, Export Marketing and Business Environment & Development. She also heads all the cultural activities of the College and is actively involved in developing the students' all-round personality. Living a life following one’s own principles is her only motto which she is following till date. |
